The group will perform at 8 p.m. with Liv Redpath, Siman Chung, Theo Lebow, and Daniel Miroslaw in the Cecilia Chorus of New York with a live orchestra.
“It is really a rush to perform in front of a sold-out crowd at Caregie Hall,” said Rachel Stott, a member. Her husband and son are involved in the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and her daughter was, at one time, group’s youngest member of the chorus.
“They are just a really good group to sing with. Teachers, lawyers, art therapist and students - people who love to sing,” Stott said.
Conductor Mark Shapiro, who will lead the performance in front of thousands of attendees, is also a graduate of Dwight-Englewood High School in Englewood.
“He is sort of a hometown boy. We sing works for a large chorus. Every other year, we try to commission a piece from a New York area composer so we do brand new, newer 20th and 21st century works as well as the classic repertoire,” she said.
She offered a limited number of tickets to her members of Leonia United Methodist Church, where she also sings.
